First, we are looking to engage in a spiritual journey to help us break through in new ways to build relationships in our community and improve how we help people grow as disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Throughout this campaign, you will be challenged to prayerfully consider how you can participate.
Second, our goal is to raise $30,000 (
Third, as a caring family of disciples who know Christ and make Christ known, we ask that you begin praying about your sacrificial offerings to Centennial.
Commitments made during this campaign should be made in addition to any commitment that you may have already made to Centennial for 2018. For example, if you made a $1,000 commitment to Centennial to be paid throughout 2018, and you wish to increase that commitment to $2,500 to be paid throughout 2018, then the pledge you would write on a Miracle Sunday Campaign Card would be $1,500. Please reach out to Gunnar Methlie for more information or clarification.
Commitments and gifts can be given in the offering plate during worship service on Sunday mornings at 10:30 am, mailed to Centennial at the address below, or pledged online. Please make checks payable to ‘Centennial United Methodist Church at Ivy’ and classify the check as ‘Miracle Sunday’ in the memo. Print the Commitment Card or use our Online Commitment Form.

All commitments and gifts received throughout the Miracle Sunday campaign will go towards Centennial’s 2018 budget in Centennial’s General Fund. If we happen to surpass our goal (great!), then the funds will be allocated towards areas of our church life that are in need of improvement.
Tithing is the notion of allocating 10% of your personal income as an offering to God to support the church. The dedication of a tenth of your income to God was recognized as a duty before the time of Moses. Abraham paid tithes to Melchizedek (Genesis 14:20; Hebrews 7:6); and Jacob vowed unto the Lord and
We are not including the notion of tithing in this FAQ to presume that it is possible for everyone. In fact, it may be possible for very few to tithe due to other financial restraints. However, the way we think about and approach our giving to Centennial should be reviewed. Rather than giving as a simple gesture to fulfill an outlined budget, perhaps we can begin to give with a purpose. That purpose is to ensure the continuation of miracles at
You will! We are inviting you to join us on this journey, and to be a part of this event, to help us improve how we help people grow as disciples of Jesus Christ with a full-time pastoral appointment. This is so much more than a giving opportunity. We invite you to come alongside us as we pray for a breakthrough moment coalescing on Miracle Sunday, May 13th.
On this journey, we ask that you begin praying about your sacrificial giving to go over and beyond your regular giving. More details will be forthcoming on donation options. Join us as we strengthen our community, and work to secure the next legacies of Centennial United Methodist Church at Ivy.
